How long should I give him? I went away in March and when I came back I noticed brick powder outside the back in my garden. I looked up and saw he has put a cable running down a pipe that separates my property to his, but drilled down my side of the pipe (I have pink, browny rendering with pebbledash). Last year I filled in that crack that ran down this very pipe and now I've noticed he has taken some of the filler out as he was putting his cable up! Obviously he took advantage while I was on holiday. Anyway, I think he must've noticed the damage he'd caused three weeks ago and left me a tin of biscuits and a note saying, "Thank you for your patience whilst completing my works at my home. I think I've accidentally taken out some cement where you filled in a crack. I'll help fix it incl costs". I replied in a note, "Thank you for the lovely biscuits. I'd be delighted if you can fix the crack. I've even got some cement left over from last year as it's a good colour match. Let me know when it's convenient for you to fix it". That was three weeks ago and I've heard nothing. What should I do? I thought about just filling it in myself, like I did last year.

Do you ever get chance to speak dace to face?
I'm so glad you went to the trouble of explaining the situation Treacle.
So many scenarios sprang to mind.

Hi bobbinwales. He doesn't like to confront (think he's quite shy) actually and this is his 'mo' of doing things.
I don't know exactly where you live but if it's near me we have a great local handyman.

Goes by Phil McCracken.
Maybe you need to think about your way of doing things.... just talk to him.
Or if its a 10 minute job maybe repair it yourself as you done it before.
Good relationships with neighbours are worth a fortune; just do it, I would.
