Hmm – from my history lessons, I don’t seem to recall a whole lot of musicians, luvvies & politicians from around the world rolling up in Poland in 1939; how times have changed.

Although then it was Germany invading Poland and now it is Russia invading Ukraine – there are many similarities, with Germany making demands of Poland and Russia making demands of Ukraine (both wanting to claim sovereignty over parts of their territories).

What i meant was: there wasn't a lot of scope for anyone to visit Poland during the combined blitzkriegs of Hitler and Stalin.

But as someone pointed out above, there were plenty of visits to the troops at various stages.
