I agree with Andy on this.

I would imagine there are many footballers who are gay buy afraid of saying so in case of homophobic chants and attacks by bigoted hooligans and ignorant people in general.

Obviously - since that is the entire reason why this young man's decision to come out is seen as relevant.

Everyone knows there are probably hundreds of gay footballers out there, but until now, none in the last thirty years who have confirmed that fact publicly.

As usual, you completely manage to miss the points being exchanged, mine included, and carry on as if everyone else lives on the same strange planet as yourself.
