I'm not attacking any individual, Sandra. I'm attacking the entire political class, both government and opposition. None of them has a clue what is required to make this country successful. They are all, to a man, woman and the undecided, enthralled to every kind of minority campaign that rears its head. They are obsessed with climate change measures to such a degree that policies devised as a result of that obsession will shortly mean the country is unable to properly function (a state that is already apparent in some sectors). They have no proper policies to take the country forward and simply stumble from one crisis to another, reacting to events rather than shaping them. The current opposition would fare no better and in many respects would perform worse because the Labour Party in particular is enthralled to trade unions, at least one of which has the overthrow of capitalism as one of its main objectives. All politicians are terrified of upsetting anybody, especially minorities, and that is making them unable to properly function.

I've often explained why I think Mrs T did me the world of good, gully. I'm working class as I have to work for a living and I didn't get the impression she hated me. Tell us what harm she caused you.

If Thatcher was here today she would certainly not repeat the sale of council houses, that's what caused the shortage of housing, even to this day.

This policy just proves that Boris just does not have a working brain of his own. The only thing Boris is focusing on is how he can bribe people into supporting him.

Local councils will just not plan any further housing knowing full well they will sooner or later have to sell them at a loss. Hence even a bigger shortage of housing than we already have. Boris is a idiot big time.

And strangely enough that was originally a Labour initiative - part of their election manifesto long before Thatcher surfaced. I wonder how many here took advantage of the offer?

I didn't say they couldn't naomi. But this policy gave the rich then, and it will again, to make a mint, and the whole mess starts again, landlords inflating rents on council houses that they buy cheap at the cost and loss to local councils. Even more people out on the streets.

What on earth are you talking about, Sandra? Council houses were sold at considerably less than market rates to the people who lived in them - not to the rich.
