With the rail strike disrupting life for millions and more strikes in other areas threatened, are the unions shooting Labour in the foot?

I was about to post something similar to Gromit: both major parties have problems because of this (and the lesson of Ted Heath, a Tory PM, in 1974 in particular ought to be a warning).
Just because a small majority oppose the strikes it doesn't mean they necessarily oppose the reasons for them.

A 'small' majority? From what I've seen, far more oppose these strikes than support them.
The poll I saw was something like 45-37 in favour with 18 pc undecided
So not really a huge groundswell.

I was amused that the London cabbie interviewed was in favour: good for his business :-)

Really? I'm not so sure either you or he should be too happy. Reports from the City say people are in very short supply there - many reverting to working from home - and no people means no business - for anyone. Hence the bars, cafes, and restaurants are struggling - and them just trying to recover from being closed for so long too. Such a shame. These strikers have nothing to be proud of.
Heard on the news earlier Barristers are thinking of striking for another 15%, strikes cause more harm than good , I wonder where people thought the money came from to furlough them? How we’re getting help with our gas & electric bills ? Do they think there’s a bottomless pit somewhere full of money ?
The problem now is that they don't believe a word Boris or his government say, and frankly they couldn't careless.

If their wage packets won't cover their bills, then they will do whatever it takes to get more.

What they do remember is the billions wasted over the past 2 years rewarding contracts to dodgy companies. And they are not going to forget the liar we have for a PM.
Everyone knows that the unions bankroll Labour and we should thank them for reminding us of one of the many reasons the Labour Party is so unattractive to the mainstream voter. Labour have always bent over backwards to keep the unions happy, with the taxpayer left to pick up the tab.
There's a massive bill ( in the billions ) racked up by this con government over the last 2 years, and a lot of it in the wrong direction.
There's been a pandemic, love.
Already taken that into consideration lovey.
Have you? Would you mind just giving me the low-down on that in terms of what money you see, over and above the Pandemic costs, as unnecessary?
teacake: "There's a massive bill ( in the billions ) racked up by this con government over the last 2 years, and a lot of it in the wrong direction. " - it's almost as if there's been some sort of crisis.
Ah, so Sandra4444 is Teacake. Ok.
ZM, that's the theory at the moment.
Whats teacak??
How about answering my question at 12:20, Sandra?
Poor purchasing of ppe, hence being dumped. Money being put into made up overnight businesses. OK?

Not really. Can you prove they would have been cheaper elsewhere?

I'll save you some time.....no you can't.
I also forgot the many fraudulent furlough schemes, that they've already agreed they will not get back.

Just general bad management of the tax payers money, so my point is don't expect the unions to bend.
You've got a very high horse you need to get off now and again Zac. You asked I've told you. OK lovey?
