Cervical Pre-Cancerous Cells And Autoimmune Disease

I have recently had a cervical biopsy for the third time in about three years. I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and am being treated with immunosuppressants.

I have had (previously) scans on my neck due to a lump about the size of half a grape on my neck. The scan showed it was a swollen lymph node.

At my last cervical biopsy, the Dr said something about being able to 'see glands' or 'swollen glands' during my colposcopy.

I have High Risk HPV and have had this for over two years now constantly. I am concerned that the Drs are missing something due to the lump on my neck (now more than one) and a similar feeling lump on my head (now about 5 of them). My understanding is that the swollen lymph nodes can appear when there is cancer present. There also seems to be a link between HPV and cancer - am I worrying about nothing ?

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this please? What was the outcome? Thank you in advance,

I know of no reputable studies that have shown any link between precancerous cervical cells and any autoimmune disorder. So no worry on that score.

I just wondered why a gland in the neck was not biopsied, but perhaps the Dr was positive that there was no significant abnormality.

Glands, swollen and present during Colposcopy is a common and usually insignificant finding.

Swollen glands can occur when cancer is present.

Reading your post, I am a little concerned about it's authenticity as, with the story that you have given, a biopsy somewhere along the way would have been done on the neck glands.

Also, I presume, that the auto immune disese that you have is rheumatoid arthritis as you have not given the diagnosis.
From your post, I too would be concerned......talk to your Dr. about these concerns.

Have you had any hospital contact over this?
Ce biopsy implies 'yes'

it may be useful to add in a Haematology consult. The lump in the neck is almost certainly an enlarged normal node but it would be nice to be sure

The chance of the cervix going up to the neck is NIL
