Sunday papers now saying 6 incidents are subject of complaints against Pincher. And a lot of criticism of Johnson for not suspending him instantly.

Amazed at how many contrasting accounts there are for Johnson’s actions. Another week of fire-fighting ahead for the cabinet instead of getting on with their jobs.

Boris appears to be out of touch with his party. Everyone seems to have been aware of Pincher’s proclivities except the Prime Minister. Cummings indicates that Johnson may have had an inkling but choose to ignore it.

A No 10 source acknowledged that Johnson “probably” knew about general allegations about Pincher and the nickname of “Pincher by name etc” but argued he was unable to look into “unsubstantiated rumour” before appointing him deputy chief whip in February.
