If he did then won, that would put the cat among the pigeons.

no ( sozza Grom grom)
They had the fixed term act
and the motion of 2019 did NOT trigger an election as the conditions were not fulfilled
and so - - they passed a special act - election of 2019 act
( see Lascelles principle in wiki)
and then 2022 ( really?) repealed the fixed term act
( yeah I didnt notice that either)
2022 "fixed term act repeal" was thought too jaggy and so they hid the act in another title [ Lord Foo-foo's bill for secondary skoolz or something)

If he called one now it would be high risk. Many Brexit supporters could switch to Reform or similar because of lack of progress, thus letting in either a Labour government determined not to make progress, or, God forbid, a hung parliament. And Boris would have been responsible for it by calling an election.
His best bet is to decide if he wants to continue putting up with his detractors or not, and act accordingly. He may or may not have to endure, and win, any rule changed further confidence vote in the near future. Time will tell.

PP, //Naomi Speaks ! - what does she say today?
Boris was very er wedded to the idea that he was elected by 24 m people. //
I didn't say that ... and until now I haven't contributed to this thread ....but I think it was considerably more. I'll tell you again. Leave me out of your stupid ramblings - and if you really can't help yourself I suggest you consult a doctor.

If Boris did call an Election - what are the alternatives?? Labour - Diane Abbott as Chancellor!! and Wimpy Starmer or The Lib Dems - A Parliment full of Pro Euros (will they do another referrendum?) and other wishy washy policies or the Conservatives again? They are all as bad as each other, its a choice of picking the best of a bad bunch which at the moment is almost impossible to do. God Help the UK.
