altho the gov gen refused to call elections
in between 1950 Lascelles principles
and now....
there intruded the Sacking of Gough Whitlam byt he Gov General of Oz. Whitlam swore to get rid of him and declare a republic if he won (he didnt. ) there WAS a court case
and to everyone's amazement, the counsel for the Crown successfully persuaded the judges that a gov gen may have MORE powers than the monarch !
