I don't think there can be much doubt that there was a failure here, centered around the delay it took for the police to act.

Since America has a tragic history of shootings in classrooms, it's not as if the officers could claim they were not clear about what was happening.

Their training should have enabled them to enter the classroom immediately, and assess and deal with the situation they found there.

It appears they did that, but with an unacceptable delay.

What training? This is small Town USA we are talking about here, probably find officers are friends and family of the Mayor/Sherrif.

The reality is mass shootings are not an everyday occurrence and the USA has a lot of people and a lot of States and Towns. I suspect they thought it would never happen there.

Disgraceful though, and stopping people who did have balls makes it all the worse.
