It’s all rather tedious now.
Just checked the procedure for postal voting in General elections and the postal ballot paper can be sent out nineteen day befi
Most of them are quite old and need to take things steady.
Posted too early...
The postal ballot can be sent out nineteen day before the election.

That being the case and with on-line voting allowed for the Tory leader vote, the process should take only three week at most.
and they need to be given a chance to change their minds

You have to think these things over very carefully
It can take a while for a relay of horses to get to and from Tuscany.
just to annoy you dave.
The vote now goes to all 180,000 members of the Conservative Party. It's summer, members on holiday, etc. The rules for a leadership election are not published but are decided by the party's 1922 committee as each election is required. The committee decided the dates prior to this election being formally launched.

Could also come in useful if any of them forget whom they voted for after a couple of weeks have gone by.
If YouGov is to be believed Lizzie is kicking some Sunak butt.

It would be funny if not so unutterably sad and shameful that she's 'the best'.
Since we the public have nothing to do with it, I just wish for total news coverage to be blanked.
The rules are not made public and the dates for the votes for Tory members was announced prior to the election but the option to have two votes was confirmed just the other day.

If they are able to amend the announced procedure as and when they choose, why not reduce the period allowed for voting?

I believe custom dictates that plebs better know their place and that's all the likes of you need to know, actually.

Because Boris has told them it’ll take that long to steam the £840-a-roll wallpaper off the walls in the flat and pack all the other baubles.

look on the bright side, you have another 6 weeks of Boris as PM. Rejoice!
It's boring. They should just announce that Truss has won when it happens, ie give us a break from it until Sept 5th.

I'm not sure who's running the country until then, but it doesn't seem to matter too much. Things trundle on much the same.

No doubt he’ll have some hols too. Who’s he going to brown-nose for a freebie now?
Maybe he’s off to France pour la vacance now his Pops is a Frenchman?

"Interestingly" YouGov was co-founded by Nadhim Zahawi
The Labour Party have, and on current rules, would, and will do, the same. Not that they matter any more. It's obvious that, since 2010, however poorly the Tory Party behaves, it makes little difference to the positions of the Parties. That Labour are currently 11 per cent ahead in the polls in completely irrelevant. There could well be two years until another GE, which, in any case, the Tories are bound to be the largest Party. When will the Left wake up and smell the coffee?
I can't see the Tories winning the next election P. Not with any of them - Truss, Sunak, or Johnson.
