Britain forced to go begging to Belgium for More electricity supplies to avoid blackout, during the heatwave, and had to pay them the highest price on record . This is going to have a knock on effect that will now send household electric bills soaring. ,,,,,, So much for Brexit then.....

Sod the electric bills , highest inflation in 40 years, high cost of living, poverty and food banks .
......Brexit was all about Sovereignty. And controlling our own Borders . Looks like France are controlling Britains border at the moment and Belgium is controlling the UKs electric supplies.
What a ridiculous whinge. No country is capable of standing alone.
Nowt to do with Brexit - it was the exceptional weather.

Food refrigeration went berserk, several supermarkets near me blacked out because demand tripped their cut out circuits.

Coupled with during summer months we rely heavily on renewable energy. We will generate more solar in very sunny weather but wind would be down. At peak we cannot just throw more coal on to make up the shortfall. Having back up has always been the plan, which is why we have electricity cables across the channel.

And we paid record prices because the wholesale cost is high due to the Ukraine war.

Six million households could face face power cuts this winter as the electric supply crisis worsens, and ministers have been warned to take action now. But nothing can be done because they are all basking in the Sun in some E/U country Whilst Boris who is supposed to be running the Country is arranging a Lavish Party to celebrate his third wedding. Wonder if he will wear his favourite High Vis jacket and white builders hat for the occasion.
Can you provide a link for this claim?
Question Author
The current problems are an eye opener for many of those who voted for Brexit, very few outside of the industry knew of the UKs reliance on the E/U for electric, when Boris was shouting his mouth off about lets get Brexit done.

I doubt there is a single Brexit voter who thought it meant we would stand alone, on the contrary a bonus was it allows us to broaden our trade with countries that we couldn't engage with as part of the EU.
So who have we engaged with so far? Any links
Ok it’s a week old but can’t people use Google for themselves?
