We look set to beat last years appalling total of 28,000+

Government policy is failing (has been for 3 years).
Yet the minister over seeing this debacle keeps her job.

Is this problem really unsolvable ?

Australia.
// Julia Gillard’s refugee intake between 2010-13 was 21,790, 23,423, 30,061, and 34,285 (for each year). Abbott’s run between 2014-15 was 35,565 and 36,917 which continued under Malcolm Turbull to 42,187, 48,480, and 56,934. Those figures continued to climb under Scott Morrison until the global Covid pandemic saw borders closed. Still, refugees were being accepted while Australian citizens were locked in their homes and prevented from travelling. //

If the off-shoring in Australia is working like you keep telling us, why have the number of refugees doubled during the life of the scheme ?
gromit I'm not claiming anything, I'm just trying to understand how it can cost £1.7 per person and even if it does why would anyone do that deal? It'd be cheaper to put them up in the Ritz so there must be more to it. That's what I am trying to comprehend. You shouting the same numbers over and over doesn't answer that does it? Are you not curious yourself?

We have not been told how much it is costing per person who goes to Rwanda ?

It might be cheaper or it might be dearer. Governments spending our money are really bothered about value for money.
