If I was a Tory minister or indeed any political cabinet minister and had to travel from London to Wrexham, I would go the method with least hassle........chauffeur driven.
I would claim expenses whichever way i went and £1,300 in my opinion is good value. Public transport may well have been on strike ;-)

No, I haven't seen that but it sounds odd. Who are the high volume users and how is it supposed to work?
Frankly, I can't see how government subsidies are going to be sustainable - how long can that feasibly continue? More to the point they're never going to be enough to really ease the burden.
