Are you all dead out there ?
Boris has given his farewell speech
Boris lies as he leaves no 10 -listing his successes and strengths
in fact listing the problems he leaves lovely Liz
a lot of ideas said one hack, that have still to be realised
what do all the ABers think? once they have imbibed their coffee

I wondered that.
Possibly the rule that said: “Boris will always get away with it” :-)
In fact he did achieve stuff and it would be churlish to claim otherwise.
I do wish Liz Truss well in these unusual circumstances. She may well be in Kyiv by the weekend :-)
It’s in all our interests for her not to be a disaster

He did get a Brexit deal: admittedly probably one using chicanery, but even I as a staunch remainer can see that it was better than no deal. Which is what I thought we would be landed with.
And the vaccination programme was indeed a triumph, as were the home testing kids which I and many others made fun of when we first heard of it.
And he did indeed forge a frelationship with the president of Ukraine that I suspect was unique. He deserves to be idolised in that country.
There was a lot of bad stuff too, and that is what has caught up with him, of course.
In short, he was great at a lot of the "abnormal stuff" but very bad at the mumdanities. Sadly for him, and all of us, you need to be good at that too.

Ichkeria,
//And he did indeed forge a frelationship with the president of Ukraine that I suspect was unique.//
Unique in that he went there each time he came under pressure at home for lying.
None of the other western leaders felt the need to go with such regularity because they weren’t facing severe scrutiny for misdeeds.

TCL, good luck. Bizarrely, naomi believes that the rules Boris was referring to were the rules that governed how his replacement was to be elected, and the relay race was that replacement election, and nothing will dissuade her from that, not even laying the speech out in front of her. Belief trumps logic, trumps reason, trumps the English language ...
For goodness sake, Ellipsis. Boris wasn't in ANY race. If anything's bizarre it's your attempts to worm your way out of your mistake - which had you thought about it instead of jumping in with two left feet, you might have taken the trouble to ask yourself why he said that. Unless he was talking about the race that occurred after he resigned, there was no reason to mention a race. There was no other race. Get a grip.
