Truss's biggest announcement to date involves the fact that she will not impose a windfall tax on energy companies.

The European Commission has tabled regulations to raise €140 billion from a windfall tax whereas, here in the UK, that same sort of money (£100 billion to £150 billion) is to be lent to individuals and companies by the Government, to pay the energy companies. So we're set to be hundreds of billions down compared to our EU counterparts.

Well i said before my energy provider may be doing okay as it aint gone bust like many others like Bulb but its not making a profit on me, its losing money as I were lucky to take there 2 year fix a year ago before all these huge cost increases

To be fair ... the UK, under Liz Truss, choosing not to impose a windfall tax on energy firms, when the EU is doing so, is worthy of a discussion. Ultimately, our excess payments will be going into EU coffers and funding their citizens and businesses to compete with ours!
