Why would they do that? Seems ridiculous.
Or is it because they’re denying that there are going to be issues over the winter and may reflect badly on them?

Or is she now becoming cautious or even paranoid after not fact-checking Kwarteng’s sums and running it by cabinet first?

Advice can be useful; but do we want public money spent to teach the public to suck eggs ? Without details of what the advice was to be, one can't really conclude much. Besides, we can't possibly have power cuts in the foreseeable future as we are so overflowing with electricity that we're even getting encouraged to run our vehicles on it; so clearly we're just fine, no worries.
