For any of the frankly rather deluded ABers who still believe Trump did no wrong and will in fact be back:
Put your money on Shergar winning the Derby 2023, you have more chance, seriously.
He’s finished. He’s more unhinged than I’d ever realised. It’s actually rather frightening that such a heinous character was ever President.

// Put the straws down Zebu //

Even the author (Beorn) makes it quite clear, the US is not a genocidal regime! Commentators (in any form of media) are not alluding to the nuances as described in your link. Given how modern day politics plays out here in the West, to level an accusation at someone by comparing them with a tyrannical dictator of the past, is very wide of the mark and utterly delusional.

Furthermore, to compare Trump with Hitler undermines the atrocities committed by the latter.

There are those still today, who would deny the holocaust ever took place. Of course, they're entitled to their view. However they should not be surprised at the pushback! Such remarks are highly incendiary and gravely offensive.

You'll be extolling the virtues of Stalin next. Although to be fair, his regime was so far left, even your political palate would become soured.

// Suppose he didn't try to steal the election either. //

Wasn't that the Russians?

/I don’t believe he deliberately incited a riot./
er everyone else does - including the rioters ! - ter daaah !

but hey this is a free country. ( and this is AB ! )
no wasnt HE the one that said he was the victim and it was obvious that the election was stolen from HIM ? - they just had to find the way it was done
we cd always ask Naomi to clarify - she is good on this stuff
You guys sure like the garden path.
These hearings are like your, BBC given, opinions. Totally illegitimate.
Mid-terms are coming, tick-tock, tick-tock.

It’s like listening to the Borstriches all over again.
Trump will never again disgrace high office, the sooner you realise that wet dream is over you’ll be all the better for it.

I did ask yesterday but you didn’t reply, hopefully you will this time?
You claimed you don’t watch BBC, Sky News not even Fox so I’ll ask again, which news source(s) do you use in order to gather information about factual events? I’m genuinely intrigued.
//er everyone else does //

No they don't.

I believe PeterPedant doesn’t include the blind fanatics who don’t realise that an ex President is being subpoenaed for very serious reasons and clearly has a case to answer.
You wouldn’t understand because you don’t acknowledge factual events nor provide any credible rebuttal or documentary evidence to the contrary to substantiate your claims, as you well know.
// He told them to go home so that proves he was in control of them ….//
so he agrees there was a riot

Interesting view - ----I wasnt in charge
they all say they did as you said
well I didnt say that
Did you make that clear them?
Do I have to?

I have to say tht I am unsure of the constitutional position of a congress committee. Do they have to prove beyond all reasonable doubt? or is it fact finding ( inquisitiorial).
If it is on the balance of probabilities, do they have to go thro it all again at a criminal function ? ( yes)

Subpoena - do you have to have reasonable cause? (England suspicion - "anything not fanciful" - Stephen Lawrence 's police caused pandemonium when he said "reasonable cause" ( reason) and not suspicion ( anything not fanciful)
Pandemonium = gasps, cries of no! and much shuffling
He (Trump the liar) says he will
oops - "letter relurgates the usual" - - 14 pages of it
I think that is 'regurgitates'

apparently refusing or failing to answer a subpoena is very bad indeed...( they say)
Trump is no friend of the Truth ( another hack)
You wouldn’t understand ......... as you well know.

I am sorry Fatts ( good morning by the way) - if you dont understand something can you know it?
The Queen is dead - - I dont udnerstand
does the person ( here clearly a standard ABer) 'know' that the Queen is dead? Not sure about that one

pig ignorance or direct denial always wins!
and he will attend and take the 5th ( I am sure I have said this)
The commentators stateside, are unsure of the powers of compulsion of a congress warrant
compared to the courts

( Maxwell ( fils) was called to the Bar of the Commons and attended and then pleaded english 5th ( I do not answer on the grounds it may incriminate me)) - attended by a highly paid libertarian lawyer ( only in London)
Meanwhile some who may know more about how this will pan out have their say. Another case of premature exclamation from the mouth foamers?

As many layers as Trump has blown through one might wonder who he'll get to represent him should he go on trial. Only one name comes to mind for me . . . better call Saul.
