What Is The Conservative Party In Power To Achieve?
as truss seems likely to backpedal on her right-wing mini-budget this afternoon the party looks too divided to actually agree on anything despite having a huge majority…
apart from brexit, what do they actually want to do?

evidently not all conservatives believe this… why have they not supported the mini-budget? The ideology behind it was very close to this one.

Here are the pledges that this Government were elected on. Being generous, they have done half of it.
1. Increase the number of nurses by 50,000
2. Leave the EU in January
3. No income tax, VAT or National Insurance rises
4. Pensions will rise by at least 2.5% per year
5. No-one will sell their home to pay for care
6. Reach net zero by 2050
7. Spend £6.3bn on 2.2 million disadvantaged homes
8. Introduce a points-based immigration system
9. Continue the roll out of universal credit
10. Create 250,000 extra childcare places
11. Freeze of student tuition fees at £9,250
12. A new Manchester to Leeds rail line
13. Launch a democracy commission
Perhaps they should continue working through this list. This is their mandate.

// Gromit, Fairness is not something you hold dear. //
It is their list, I don’t think you can blame the pandemic for the pledges they haven’t done.
They have borrowed hundreds of £Billions, yet no more nursery places, no improvement to bad housing, no new rail line.
In fairness the pandemic did not stop them fulfilling those promises.

Good God, it must be weird living on planet Gromit.
Pledges cost money, there is little left for anything that wont boost the economy due to the lockdowns you all wanted. I said this would happen nut no I was the bad guy over and over again.
Well you all wanted it so now pay for it.
