If only the Deputy PM had at least taken the wheel of the ship directly after Boris was made to walk the plank, instead of insisting they could do nothing until the diabolically long leadership contest had finished? Instead it was left to Larry, the ships cat to remain the only legitimate tenant in 10 Downing St. A crisis entirely of their own making, choosing...

Re the BA: why would several weeks of Dominic Raab made any difference?
The big mistake was letter Tory members vote for the next PM (!)

She’s looking decidedly shaky Ich
The more I hear the PM speak the more I suspect a dastardly Johnson plot to return to Downing St having replaced the real Liz Truss with some sort of clueless, remote-controlled android :-)

Personally, I’d like that to be honest ich ( there I’ve said it ;)

If nothing else it would have left a figurehead for other party members to address their concerns to, opposition too.
What did they do instead? Let Boris fiddle as everything about him was ablaze for 3 whole months of inaction.
Their circus, their monkeys.

Agreed 100%.... there were many candidate's who were much better and more experienced like Sunak, Hunt , Ben wallace (think he stood, if not he should of).
Hunt alway's impressed me on those committees.... asked Boris etc some really probing questions and had them squirming
you can't really deny party members the opportunity to vote for the leadership, though. The trouble is, as with Labour, members are often a lot more hardline than the sitting MPs
I'll second that old Geezer. He had his faults but don't we all. They pale into insignicance compared to what has happened since. The party has now got what it deserved!

Yeah, we all get sacked for lying, get fined, commit adultery and cover up for a predatory sex pest don’t we?
He’s such a card that Boris with his Jolly Japes!

Christ on a cross-trainer.
The bigger mistake was letting career prioritising MPs choose the next party leader.

Meanwhile how wonderful that we have Mr. Popular the remainer as Chancellor. Maybe he can think of more EU organisations government can sign us up to, and maybe hand out more apologies to those thwarted from stopping us regaining sovereignty.

The only
You believe he did his job well??
Which bit? The lying or the covering up?

This is not some kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar or telling fibs in school, this was the Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland!

Protecting a sex offender(your words, not mine. I use the word pest, Pincher hasn’t been convicted of an offence thus far) ‘a bit stupid’?
Would you feel the same if a Headmaster in a school did it, even if you perceived the school to be doing well?
Do try and put things into context and perspective.
60 government ministers certainly realised the consequences of such egregious behaviour by a sitting Prime Minister and resigned.

FatticusInch, if the government were going brilliantly, would you still want labour in anyway, your sole purpose seems to berate the government, like gully i wonder if your the same person. it's a question.
‘this was the Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland!’

Aye. The United Kingdom. Cept for Nicola, of course.
