Anyone interested can watch it now on IV Hub. The whole three series. After reading this thread I shall start tomorrow. https://www.itv.com/hub/cracker/1a1918

// I think a great actor is just like a great red wine - improving with age.//

You lauded him for his acting in Cracker. Are you now saying his best work came post Cracker? Then his legacy would be the role he played as Hagrid.
a fine actor, best work was Cracker, but i loved him as Hagrid, Rest in peace Robbie
ZS, I said earlier I have not seen any Harry Potter film so I am unable to comment on his acting in the role of Hagrid. Still, that wasn't his last film and I have yet to see Effie Gray. Sadly, of course, the greatest wine will always turn to sediment.
Seems like yesterday he 'burst onto the scene'. (to me, anyway)
Stood up for JK Rowling when it would have been easier to join the (trans)bandwagon or remain silent.
Loved his performance as Valentin Dmitryovich Zukovsky in the Bond 'The World is not Enough.' He appeared in the Man w. th Golden Gun back in 1965 as well.....useless info that this is.
I remember him for "National Treasure" - quite a difficult watch & probably not entirely comfortable to act.
choux > 07.49... Thank you. A very honest answer!

For greater longevity, best to keep the cork wet :-)

Was it a school play, DTC?

Maybe GoldenEye in 1995?
I loved Valentin Zukovsky......one of the few Bond semi Villans to appear in more than one film:

he appeared in Goldeneye and TWINE
Goodbye to a larger-than-life Glaswegian. His legacy will live on.
Many moons ago I knew someone who slept with him. They broke the bed.

He was also good in this..still life!
