Well, over a week ago I posted a thread in which I mentioned that our Prime Minister had recently said to the CBI ‘Brexit is already delivering enormous benefits’ and I asked the Brexiteers to list any of those enormous Brexit benefits – but no one posted a single one of those enormous benefits.

So don’t be shy (I have plenty of time) – over to you Brexiteers, to list those enormous benefits.

Democracy is an ongoing process. If it stops after a single vote, then there is no democracy any more. I don't think the referendum included a clause saying that the UK could never, ever rejoin the EU. It may bore some people that other people don't want to have their opinions silenced forever, but that's tough, I'm afraid. People have the right to express their views and to advocate what they think would be a good direction for the country.

All right, I'll answer it. It shouldn't need saying and it's late so I'm on my way to bed. Huge, enormous benefit - we are free of the E.U.. How often does it need saying? A massive sense of relief when I read of the shenanigans and idiocies engulfing Europe. Worth anything. We have, I admit, not entered as wholeheartedly into the process (thanks to reluctant politicians and civil servants) as I would have wished - but we are holding our own in the world and once the brakes are properly off, we should fly.
T.b.h. I (and probably all other Brexiteers) have not thought it necessary to respond to yet another whingeing post. Well done N.J. for bothering.

Hymie's post is addressed to Brexiters. There are obviously no apparent benefits from Brexit, apart from the sovereignty issue, and that's a bit airy-fairy and probably not what many hoped for when they voted to leave.

That’s not quite true. Hymie and I have been exchanging views for some time (seems like forever). Although the question was not the same as this one, I gave quite a comprehensive answer when he suggested, more than once, that the UK’s economy would be worse off by £80bn (latterly £100bn) per annum. I dissected that number and also gave a number of constitutional reasons why the UK was better off out of the EU. I can’t recall what question it was and I’m not looking for it now because it’s not really important. We’ve left, and that’s all that matters.
