NOT been tried for manslaughter
The test for a manslaughter conviction is for the prosecution to show that the death came about either through the defendant's gross negligence or through them intentionally committing an unlawful or dangerous act.

Accidentally driving on the wrong side of the road, simply through momentarily forgetting that the rules of the road in the UK are different from those in the USA, doesn't meet that test.
Because she didn’t deliberately set out that day to kill anyone, it was an accident caused by careless driving.

Absolutely disgraceful sentence in my view. 8 months for taking a life and no extradition in sight. Pitiful.
why has Anne Sacoolas been tried for manslaughter ?
she hasnt
she was indicted for causing death by dangerous driving
and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge
( can't remember)

the only case of a car being used in manslaughter is here
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Andrew_Harper
Policeman dragged and killed by two travellers stealing a car. There has been a law change since then.

Sacoolas is a special case which we shouldnt dwell upon. Diplomatic immunity is NOT extended to driving to a fro work for the named diplomat - but was for his wife
The change is badly worded and favoured Mrs Sacoolas.

She was let go at the scene and I STILL say she should have been arrested and the immunity sorted out in the local nick....

Judgie-baby was expecting her to return ( but her masters told her no) and was a bit fazed when she didnt turn up and this was the best that cd be done.
It was all a bit inevitable.
It was no surprise to me, and it was all arranged to the benefit of the two allies months ago.
// and no extradition in sight. Pitiful. //

Did you not hear suspended for 12 months. She can only be extradited if she re-offends in the next year, which won’t happen because she ain't gonna be here.
and anyway extradition has been turned down
and I cant imagine if they re-apply,
the american court will say
"oh oops sorry about that, here she is, this time!"
