The test for a manslaughter conviction is for the prosecution to show that the death came about either through the defendant's gross negligence or through them intentionally committing an unlawful or dangerous act.
Accidentally driving on the wrong side of the road, simply through momentarily forgetting that the rules of the road in the UK are different from those in the USA, doesn't meet that test.

Policeman dragged and killed by two travellers stealing a car. There has been a law change since then.
Sacoolas is a special case which we shouldnt dwell upon. Diplomatic immunity is NOT extended to driving to a fro work for the named diplomat - but was for his wife
The change is badly worded and favoured Mrs Sacoolas.
She was let go at the scene and I STILL say she should have been arrested and the immunity sorted out in the local nick....
Judgie-baby was expecting her to return ( but her masters told her no) and was a bit fazed when she didnt turn up and this was the best that cd be done.
