Richi Sunak is facing criticism over his failure to avoid strikes by getting around the negotiating table with the unions, and that Keir Starmer would handle it far better. The public will not forgive or forget that all these strikes leading up to a winter of discontent happened under a Tory Govt ... come the G.E.

The latest yougov poll a week ago gave Labour a 25% poll lead.
Of course it probably won’t work out like that as I’d imagine in polls people don’t take tactical voting into account.
But while that makes it less good news for Labour it doesn’t make it any better for the Conservatives.
And these aren’t blips: it’s a long term trend it seems

Looking at the Redcar council by-election, it looks as though last time Labour edged it from UKIP. With no UKIP candidate this time the votes went to the Tories. Labour’s vote also rose slightly.
And who knows what the independents stood for.
