Voters believe nothing in Britain is working anymore as they give LABOUR a huge poll lead. Richi Sunak is facing criticism over his failure to avoid strikes by getting around the negotiating table with the unions, and that Keir Starmer would handle it far better. The public will not forgive or forget that all these strikes leading up to a winter of discontent happened under a Tory Govt ... come the G.E.
Will the voting public be feeling the same in the summer of 2024 than they are in the winter of 2022 ?
Probably not, but they have largely given up on the Party that can delivery Brexit. Because that hasn’t gone too well either.
Ladybirder and the rest... if you find Gully a sad voice in the wilderness, then simply leave him there in peace. You don't have to argue with him. Note that the real intelligentsia such as ToraToraTora and other T's don't waste their time on a lost cause.
Happy Xmas.
The latest yougov poll a week ago gave Labour a 25% poll lead.
Of course it probably won’t work out like that as I’d imagine in polls people don’t take tactical voting into account.
But while that makes it less good news for Labour it doesn’t make it any better for the Conservatives.
And these aren’t blips: it’s a long term trend it seems
Looking at the Redcar council by-election, it looks as though last time Labour edged it from UKIP. With no UKIP candidate this time the votes went to the Tories. Labour’s vote also rose slightly.
And who knows what the independents stood for.
Still. Better, better than a loss, tho local elections are always throwing up oddities. It’s quite encouraging in a way
