This seemed to fade fairly quickly and the 'health issue's that led to his resignation were also not an issue for long At the end an elder!y man has died after a long illness resolving the anomaly that his overlap with his successor created.
the main theme is 'Popey dead - hooray'
you know when I posted about another deader - luc montagnier - the Ab standard random deleter - deleted it!
He rose quickly in the papal hierarchy - and topped the Holy Officer - heretic hunter. In the seventies, Marxism ( yeah Putins lot) was thought to be have a future in christianity, but Ratzinger didnt.
He ignored child abuse by priests and I think just considered it impossible. [You know like English public school boys who went to Cambridge cd possibly be russian spies]
He also sort of under-acted. He laicized priests ( defrocked to you heretics) and I dont think that was enough. no criminal process....
and I think it caught up with him.
considering the oupouring of grief ( and a little bile) over one of our number, this thread is a damp squib.

You may wonder how they know - there is even a study of women's hairstyles in the early Empire ( but still doesnt identify the person), and this one is comtemporary with Livia.
this is not too technical is it? - OK not very mimzy but someone DID mention Messalina. What is the Latin for not-mimsy? - amimzia probably (fortasse)

Our King Charles III was allegedly very sad about the evil Benedict's demise.

How touching... Hmmmm
KCIII. Can his word be relied upon?
When heir apparent, he announced if he were to be proclaimed sovereign, it would be better as supreme governor of the Church of England, to amend the title 'Defender of the Faith' to 'Defender of Faith'.
This was to cause a storm. Accusations of disestablishment and undermining Britain's Christian heritage quickly followed.
Twenty Five years on, his accession to the throne now sees the title 'Defender of the Faith' bestowed upon him.
So, what better testimony to show your commitment to a diverse and multicultural society that the UK has now become, had KCIII insisted on the title 'Defender of Faith'.
