Not before time in my opinion - but will it work?

It's a nice idea but all our schools, and universities are now full of marxist filling our sons and daughters heads with how horrible this country has been in the past and the only way out is to turn to their socialist worker doctrine by everyone going on strike and bring the country to its knees, yet when these marxist put up for loal elections they never get many...

It will be cancelled before it starts.
“Free speech tsar” surely a contradiction in terms ;-)

An odd term, I'll grant you, Ich ... but if the person they appoint serves the purpose I don't really care what they call him.
^^^^ or her or them lol :)

Arif Ahmed is the person they've got in mind for the job, bednobs. I think that's a 'him'.... but with the 'woke' who knows? ;o)
It's like 'leveling up' - politicians love buzz phrases, even though they make no grammatical sense.

Hopefully this insidious culture of right-on-ism will be dealt with before its spreads its pointless nasty nonsense any further.
This kind of thing never works.

Remember “back to basics”?
I suspect for a lot of academics if it means they can go back to how it was a few years ago they might welcome it while publicly complaining about interference....
The Mail makes it sound like the right wing declaring ideology war on the left. Very dangerous. Is it right that bishops (who sit in the Lords) should be selected by the government based on the prospective bishes political leanings?

Well firstly the HoL should be abolished and secondly while we wait in that no religious zealots should be in there.

What has that got to do with this, apart from another daft slogan.

I hope Rishi does get this sorted out. Free thinking and debate must happen in Universities.
fripfrip: 12:42. Good post !
^^ ^^
Thank You .
I can't take anything the Mail says seriously. It sounds like a wet dream they had. Is it reported anywhere else?
It does sound like a wind up.
Are they seriously going to investigate the appointment of “left wing bishops”?(!)
It’s a while until April 1st
A cheap vote-catcher and a nice little earner for his rich cronies.
this tsar will be going round telling universities what they can and can't say and do? Hm.
/// bring the country to its knees ///

The anti-TU brigade trot this one out time and time again. They seem to forget the last time the country was brought to its knees with devastating results (far worse than any Union activity has ever done) was the work of the ultra-rich Right Wing Bankers.
