Mike Pompeo On Sky Tv
I don't know if anyone saw the fascinating interview with Beth Rigby last night (Sunday) on Sky.
Aside from displaying the impressive results of his recent diet, he made a good fist of defending the achievents of the Trump adminiatration, unsurprisingly, given he was a central figure in it.
He rightly made the point that NATO did ultimately benefit from the administration, but impressions are surely a large part of it, and the impressions picked up by the west's enemies might have been somewhat different. His claim that Putin postponed his invasion of Ukraine until Trump had left office is surely nonsensical. However it was noticeable that he distanced himself from the former president (as any decent individual surely would) inparticular the latter's recent ludicrous claim that he could end the war in Ukraine in next to no time by getting the two sides in a room to talk (!) He perhaps wisely claimed that he "didn't hear that"
Anyway if we must have a Republican in the White House there are probably a lot worse options.

Bit of a detour, but when you said "if we must have a Republican in the White House there are probably a lot worse options". It gave me something to think about.
I'm no Republican, but for Secretaries of State, I've always admired Condi Rice. I wished she'd run in 2016, since the Democratic alternative was a little lacklustre.
She's diplomatic and knowledgeable without any of Trump's bluster.
This, from a few weeks ago, probably doesn't tell you anything you don't already know. But I like her calm style, in contrast to other Republicans who, unlike Rice, are looking to restrict military supply support for Ukraine.
Oh.......... and Many Happy Returns to Olena Zelensky :o)
