Corby.
"Maggiebee, coarse as always but that aside, Scottish independence isn’t just about Scotland."

But, but, what about the gang dahn saaff who say 'let them go and good riddance' or words to that effect at every opportunity, are they not to be challenged and educated by their more level-headed (when it suits them) compatriots.

None of it matters anyway, the union will prevail and we up here in the frozen north will just sit and wait for the Barnett Formula obsessed boggle-eyed loons to get up a head of steam for our amusement.
So you live in England. You wont have to pay for the collossal damage that would entail on us true Scots. Are you an English nationalist by the way.I think Farage was all for Scottish independence.
Of course we also have our own tunnel-visioned one issue citizens who appear to be stuck on repeat.
@14.18.Looks like you have taken over PPs mantle now, dougie.
I'm sure he could correctly spell his first name in reverse...
Tee-hee.
I'll do it all in caps if it makes life easier for you, myfanwy. x
I don't understand the implications of Scottish independence at all, in fact I can't really think of Scottish friends or colleagues that I would have discussed this with so a lot of my education on this topic has come from this site and bar a couple every ABer from north of the border has made their dislike of the English, Westminster, the Royals patently obvious, and always in a quite a sour manner to boot. Hence I do think yes just get on with it. Who would want to stay friends with unpleasant neighbours??

Is there a Scottish ABer who is willing to politely educate me to why they want to maintain the Union?
"bar a couple every ABer from north of the border has made their dislike of the English, Westminster, the Royals patently obvious, and always in a quite a sour manner to boot."

Have you reported each example of an anti-English comment? If so, were they removed?
OMG TCL, give it a rest with the mod hat...
Quite a lot of Scottish independence supporters live anywhere but Scotland, prudie.Makes me wonder if they are like Farage.Farage is all for Scottish independence. He knows its only English taxpayers money that is keeping Scotland going.Turn off the English taxpayers tap, save English taxpayers money, but at the same time beggar Scotland. Not in my lifetime.
PRUDIE, if you make such a claim with nothing to support it, you should be ready for it to be challenged.

If there were examples of anti-English posts, would the Mods not delete them? Then again, they might have missed them so why not report them to be on the safe side?
Corby, blimey, if you report as much as you encourage others to report you must drive the Eds nuts! Prudie is right - and she didn’t say anti English remarks. She said they’ve made their dislike of the English, Westminster and the royals patently obvious. As far as I’m aware having preferences is allowed… at least I hope so because I don’t like them much.
How you have managed to miss all of the anti-English posts beats me TCL.
Im not sure if Corby is a Scot at all,lb.If he is a Scot he seems to be an East End Of Glasgow Scot and all that entails. If you know what i mean.
I keep getting emails from the Answerbank telling me that I've had a response to something I wrote on this thread. I haven't said anything at all, but now I've written this I don't mind the emails so much. :)
Have you accidentally subscribed to it, I've done that a few times by hitting the subscribe button without realising. If you go into your profile and look at subscribed threads you can untick it :-)
NAOMI, a definition of anglophobia, 'Anti-English sentiment or Anglophobia (from Latin Anglus "English" and Greek φόβος, phobos, "fear") means opposition to, dislike of, fear of, hatred of, or the oppression and persecution of England and/or English people. '

Does, "their dislike of the English...and always in a quite a sour manner to boot." not match that definition? Is anti-English not the same as anglophobic?

Regarding whether I drive the Eds nuts, if that were the case, I am sure they would have let me by now and since they haven't, it appears I don't.

I think we are going off at a tangent so I will not comment any further.

Groan …
