stoopid man, particularly with her name suggesting a Jewish linkage....no great loss to mankind if the Beeb turf him out.
No surprise. His ignorance in making such an appalling comparison is palpable.
Did you already know her husband is Jewish?
Does that matter, Corby?
Question Author
Lineker is an English sporting legend sad to see him lowering himself under the gutter like this.
I'm wondering why, if it's not a surprise and there's a suggestion her surname has Jewish origins, why her husband being Jewish wasn't raised earlier by some folk on here.
the name is a variant of braver - details below...Ukraine or Polish Jewish with a Germanic offshoot - https://www.familyeducation.com/baby-names/name-meaning/braver
So what if he's Jewish? Does every Jewish person think the same way? Of course not ...
So she's offended her husband as well! Silly woman.
It shows I suppose that "taking offence" can happen to anyone :-)

Did Lineker say the Home Secretary was a Nazi?

ich: "Did Lineker say the Home Secretary was a Nazi? " - he compared what she is doing with 1930s Germany................
The BBC's editorial guidelines state: "Where individuals identify themselves as being linked with the BBC, or are programme makers, editorial staff, reporters or presenters primarily associated with the BBC, their activities on social media have the potential to compromise the BBC's impartiality and to damage its reputation."

He sounds very confident today, c0cky, even. I hope his contract is terminated. Not the first time he has forgotten the BBC's impartiality guideline:

"he compared what she is doing with 1930s Germany................ "

That is what I thought.
Depends how you look at it
Arguably in that case she should know better.
The 1930s Germany remark was uncalled for but the rest of it was spot on
the DT today has a list of his 'infringements' as long as an arm.....
I’d never thought about it, Corby, but I did say yesterday that his ignorant comment is offensive not only to this country but to those who really were affected by 1930s Germany.
The issue could be referring to 'guidelines'.

Mr Lineker could be within his rights to turn round and say "I prefer not to be guided, thank you."

It needs to be stated in contracts that the BBC will decide what if any social media content impinges on its role as an impartial broadcaster, and act accordingly.

Then everyone knows where they are.

Depends how you look at it// - err remind us who was in power in Germany in the 30s, is there another way of looking at it?
So if her husband wasn't a jew it would have been ok ?

Whilst I think Gary Lineker is acting foolish with his inexplicable views, I don't see a person's religion has anything to do with it. It just gives Gary the opportunity to say that in that case all the more reason for Suella Braverman to reconsider her policies.

This sort of thing is best ignored. Let fools fantasise whatever they like; it isn't related to reality. We've had enough of that sort of deliberate misrepresentation here today without considering it occurring elsewhere.
AH, I posted a link for you on the other thread about the BBC’s requirement for political impartiality.
It's all faux shock and outrage whipped up by those who dislike the BBC and anything not right-wing. I predict that the next general election will be the nastiest for a long, long time.
