New Brexit Border Checks Coming This October
These checks will be on goods entering the UK from the EU , that up till now have not been subject to inspection and will take place away from actual borders, in new lorry parks for goods coming through Dover and the Channel tunnel. This plan will drive up prices and cause shortages as many Eu based exporters will take one look at these proposals and decide to cease supplying UK customers. As the recent tomato shortages and other goods have shown. EU suppliers have plenty of options to sell elsewhere.

Bishops aside there is much to bash about our country, let's not be coy and view the UK through a Union Jack veil. It's certainly not the worst place in the world, used to be a great place to live and could easily be again if we could only find the right managers.

You might be wide of the mark on this one I'm afraid Gulliver, but the overall price of 'sovereignty' may continue to rise with the as yet one-sided checks on the European side.

I welcome this. Anyone who has visited the less salubrious regions of the EU will have seen that food and agricultural hygiene and safety is nowhere near as stringent as it should be and it was ridiculous that simply by virtue of being located in the EU, a producer could freely ship all manner of their goods to the UK. Traders (on both sides of the Channel) will have to get used to the new regime. The idea of Brexit was to see change - not simply to carry on as before.

Well not quite. There was a general shortage due to many factors so anyone with any business sense will supply close to home. However once the shortage goes, as it invariably will, then they will have surplus that they will want to shift to the UK (or anywhere else).
A few checks are a good thing, both ways.
