Extraditing a 74 year old man for the murder of a Policewoman sounds a good ide but this could backfire massively on us given the liberal judiciary.

It is not beyond possibility he will get 10 years out in 5 then claim he cant go back to Pakistan so we end up housing him, giving him NHS treatment in is final years and a pension. None of which will have been paid for.

If he's found guilty of murder it will be an automatic life sentence, he certainly won't be released after 5 years.
Murder of a police officer is never treated lightly by the judiciary and it is right that he should be extradited and stand trial.
Nobody should think they can get away with serious crime by fleeing the country

I hope you are right Barry, but with some of the recent sentences I really am not holding my breath.

Every officer who was serving at that time will be raising a glass today. It won't be 5 years, murder carries a mandatory life sentence. The judge will recommend a tariff which will undoubtedly see this coward die in jail. Well done those who have followed Sharon.

There's no reason to suppose he'll be treated more leniently than his accomplices. Some are serving long sentences.

Valid point sandy - he has to be sentenced according to the criteria of 1974 ( you know - 5 h enforced cycling for child abuse) BUT look at the sentences of the accomplices
