Have You Ever Fainted? We’re You Fearful Of It Occurring Again?
29 Answers
I wanted to ask for those who have fainted in public did you experience anxiety when comming round/afterwards?
Also were you fearful of it happening again? How did you manage this fear? What did you think/tell yourself
If you were not fearful about fainting again what was your thought process ie did you just think it is no big deal

I'm more worried about not being able to breathe, that's happened 3 times now, they think it's an allergy associated with my asthma. My throat quite suddenly closes. I now can't bear to have my face covered in any way. I tell myself it's OK, but when I had my cataracts done I had to have a hand holding the face-covering up so I could see a clear airway tunnel.
As a result I am now never without an inhaler in my pocket. I don't know if it was that that helped - but it was so frightening. I try not to think about it.

I fainted regularly in school assembly when I was in the sixth form. We had to stand, and because I was bulimic, I didn't have the strength to stand for long periods. I spent a lot of time in the sick bay but didn't worry about fainting again. All I was concerned/interested about was how much weight I was losing.
Crashed out about three times when I got off a high stool to go to the loo in a pub.soon as I hit the deck I came round within a second or two. No big deal. I have high BP. Wife was pretty alarmed and called an ambulance. I have no worry dhould it happen again. I just get down very slowly. I hate wasting paramedics and A&E nurses time.
A few times.
Last time in the dentist - I am seriously phobic, and the used anesthetic that didn't suit me.
I passed out, woke up, threw up, went into shock, and passed out again.
When I felt dizzy there was one dentist and one nurse, when i woke up there were three nurses, one lying on my legs because i was thrashing about as i came round, and another mopping up vomit from everywhere.
I have never been fearful of it happening, it's unlikely, but it's not the end of the world.

I fainted once at school after sitting by a hot radiator having just come in on a very cold, snowy morning. I was embarrassed because I fell down my friend’s body.
Another time was at a rock concert and I had to be carried out of the crowd by a bouncer. Also embarrassing. It’s not something I worry about, although I do feel dizzy every time I stand up.
