TTT - an overzealous Mod wrongly felt my BA was libellous. It wasn't. Shame, as even if I say so myself, I thought it was a half-decent answer. Hopefully it will be reinstated after the weekend when AB reviews the removed posts.
there’s a lot of chatter about this on social media, with two views leading the pack:-
1. such a ban is illegal under equality legislation and will be challenged in the courts
2. since elite athletes are chemically enhanced to within a gnat’s whisker of detection, whether some person has a naturally higher testosterone level than the next person is kinda irrelevant.
Ah I see, go for the angle all women are cheats anyway then?
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Even if they were drugged up to the eyeballs (which I do NOT believe they are) they are still not winning by a country mile.
These 'people' will be the end of women's sport if they get their way.
I believe it's okay for transgender people to have rights but there are some oversteps. They want to wear opposite sex clothes- okay. They want people to use the correct pronouns for them-okay. They want an irreversible surgery to change their biological sex-okay. You want to put a transgender woman on a beer can- oh well. None of that is hurting anyone but when you bring it into sports, then I believe it is wrong. They have women and men sports for a reason. Genders are split in sports for a specific reason. it is proven women and men are different. Men are faster and stronger than females (generally). I guess when you can't beat the men you become a girl to feel good about yourself. (I am a Christian which I guess means I'm biased. I love those people, just not what they do. How these people are acting is the new norm. Their feelings are valid. They are just confused and people screaming at them is not helping. I don't offend them with my words and I don't plan to. They choose their paths and I don't have a say in it.)
Deskdiary there is nothing to suggest the person you named in your now deleted post did not adhere to the regulations that applied to her at the time of competition.
To claim otherwise is potentially libellous and must not be repeated.
I've been checking the tests today for what may constitute libel, and it's abundantly clear my deleted post doesn't even get close to the threshold required to demonstrate libel.
Raving-mod was wrong to delete my post for being potentially libellous, because he or she (or they!) clearly do not understand the tests required.
