According to the Met police it has cost, for a 6-week period, £4.5m to patrol JSO protests. The Home Secretary is "outraged". What and when will something be done to return roads to the use of all?

No point being outraged if nothing is being done to stop it.

My thought exactly, naomi.
Labour is attempting to block further legislation to clamp down on these eco-zealots. Not surprising since Sir Keir has been bought and paid for by JSO' s sponsor.
Can't imagine keir going down well in Northern wall seats with that attitude along with his belief that a bird can have a k**b.

The application of current legislation seems to be running on a faulty on/off switch.
“…that a bird can have a knob”

That’s funny - what is less funny is that women having penises is even worthy of debate.

£4.5m and what have the protests achieved? The square root of eff all, but such is their arrogance and narcissism these half-wits genuinely believe their stunts are worthy.

I was at the Prem rugby final when the cretins ran on to the pitch, and what the cameras did not show was the crowd as one jeering them. If the crowd at Twickenham had is representative of the population, these no-marks are not supported by the man (can I still say man?) in the street.

I marvel that, as yet, none has lost life nor limb over these protests. How people living and or working in London are coping is almost beyond comprehension.
Its the grinning and smirking that get me. Someone needs to punch them in the gob.
I think that’s only a matter of time dave50.

They’re going to upset the wrong person at some point and somebody will take a pasting. Whilst I wouldn’t condone it, I would understand it.

But such is the skewed policing we have, when somebody got frustrated recently and dragged one or two off the road, he was the one tackled by dibble.

I just don’t understand why the police stand idly by watching them hold up thoroughfares.
// They’re going to upset the wrong person at some point //

the "wrong people" already have a track record on that respect. :-D

Costing the government money is exactly what these prats are trying to achieve. If Labour were in any way serious about being on the side of the taxpayer or the working man they would get behind the new legislation to stop these whackos holding the rest of us to ransom.

Well they have lost any pride that was in their profession. They are supervised by managers ,not, police officers who have gone through the ranks. They can't be arrised to turn up for crimes but advise victims to report to insurance companies. They are puppets for the crime commissars who instruct them to rush to alleged hate crimes and ignore real crime. Knife crime rises but they are severely restricted to stop and search. They are not allowed to use basic common sense and intuition known as 'gut feeling' . They are totally demoralised by their own supervisors and happy to turn up just to get paid. They have no pride in their so-called uniform and it would appear, apart from certain units, display no self discipline. I recall the Commandant of Hendon Driving School would suspend any police driver he saw without his cap on from driving duties. Now they walk into premises for some reason hatless and out of uniform as if they think they are one of you and all lads together. I have even seen a local officer not properly in uniform, hatless, directing traffic in the middle of the road at an incident. Why would any driver obey the directions of what looked like a demented escapee from the local psychiatric unit.
13 years of Conservative Governments and not one decent Home Secretary.
The current one is particularly bad. She lacks credibility.
She has let this get out of control.
But the numpties give her a pass and instead blame Starmer who has absolutely nothing whatsoever with this situation.
If the Tories are incapable of governing properly, what is the point of them being in power?
It'll be something about an abacus and a beer warmer, Gromit.

Really Gromit, How so?

What we do know is that Labour haven't any problem accepting £ 1.4m from the Just Stop Oil agitators when it suits them.
Saw the photos of cars try to get through floodwater in North West London yesterday and realised that climate change will cause much more disruption on the roads than Just Stop Oil will
Don't they just send the bill to the JSO ?
Fiveleaves - you’re naive. And ignorant.
The government is already taking action, and the MET police are enforcing it- see www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1840221.html
A victory for common sense!
