I suspect she's bursting to spill the beans on Johnson, but is hoping that he's still her BFF and is biding her time until he comes to her rescue or doesn't. Boris promised her a ticket on the Lords gravy-train, which in fairness to Boris it was not he who rescinded the ticket.

Having realised that if she gave up being paid as an MP, she’d have to get by on whatever GB News are paying her to spout nonsense – so she decided not to resign.

There is some suggestion that she is holding out for a promised peerage from Sunak, rather than forcing another by-election – but I think the above more likely.

Despite Nadine Dorries being mad – that alone is not a reason to refuse her a peerage.

In fact, for the government positions/office she has held, it is my understanding that such a person would normally be given a peerage at the end of their service – so perhaps she is not being unreasonable, being in a huff.
