Pride Marchers and JSO disrupt Pride March in London. They are sponsored by United Airlines. Do they think elastic bands propel the United Airlines fleet of aircraft. Crass stupidity by these cranks once again not to mention hypocrisy

Looks like a united effort here to block the highway. I read it as a group of LGBTQ+ supporters of Just Stop Oil. Perhaps you wish to interpret it differently.?

In case you hadn't noticed or don't fly .The model balsa aircraft years ago were driven by propellers and elastic bands
United aircraft use Kerosene oil to fly their jets. They also are happy to sponsor Pride who are blocking the road with JSO. I can explain it to you but I can't help you understand. Or perhaps you are deliberately being contrary and obtuse as is your want.!

Pride are not the people blocking the road... JSO are
united airlines is supporting pride not JSO
hope that helps
JSO are correct. the fossil fuel economy is not sustainable and has made the consequences of the greenhouse effect significantly worse... we have had fifty years of warning and didn't do enough, so radical action has unfortunately become necessary.... failure to do anything will cause large sections of the planet to become newly inhospitable to human life... the lethal temperatures we are seeing in mexico and parts of the USA are a taste of the future for hundreds of millions
next to this problem "inconvenience" or "annoyance" are trifles... they are in fact irrelevant.

They might be cranks, but they are different cranks.
They probably share very little ideology.
So the anti oilers are happy to disrupt a march by a group that have an airline as a sponsor.
Of course they know that oil products keep aircraft in the skies - that is exactly why they have been targeted.

In defence of Just Stop Oil, they are not campaigning for the immediate abolition of the use of oil (fossil) fuels, which would take the UK back to the dark-ages – but are against the extraction of new oil and gas resources. How much of an impact this would have on the production of oil & gas, I don’t know.
But they also want a rapid transition to a low energy, low carbon world – so if they were to get the government to halt the extraction of new fossil fuel resources, they would target other fossil fuel use to meet their aims.
The world is currently burning through around 100 million barrels of oil a day, and it is projected to remain at around this level through to the middle of this century, only then reducing as alternate energy sources come into wide-spread use.
Whether a continuance of burning such an amount of fossil fuels will cause a global warming catastrophe is open to debate – but at least you are a little more informed on Just Stop Oil and their objectives.
