I think I know where the charity money went..
Rather than demolish anything, why were they not instructed to pay to convert it to the offices that they were given permission for ? Seems such a unnecessary destructive act.

is that for the Farage thread OG??
ok the mods acted quick for you there oldgeezer to sort that for you
It was put there, but the tech seemingly thought it'd be hilarious to add to all the other day stresses so far and shove it here, where it could not possibly be since I'd replied to the thread I had been reading, which wasn't this one.
There does seem to be some questions about what happened to the dosh he raised.
This is shameful.
Jeez. What’s that saying about a person becoming a criminal? Something about greed and opportunity?
All charities need to have a closer check on them, especially the bigger ones. There should also be min amounts that goes directly to the cause registered, otherwise we end up like the US.

I found it difficult to know what is being ordered for demolishing, it appeared the spa was an add on so I assumed it was that, which would be the correct thing to do. Could be wrong of course.
Every penny donated to Captain Tom's NHS fundraing walk around his garden went to the NHS, over £30 million. This charity was set up afterwards and has nothing to do with that NHS fundraiser.
No, but it is in his name.
Yes, it is
I would argue that Captan Tom has raised every penny associated with his name. Without him the charity wouldn’t exist and therefore it has everything to do with the original NHS fundraiser.
I have seen many comments on other platforms stating that the NHS didn't receive the original money, which is clearly false.

I think this charity should close, it has been dogged with various problems since its conception.
It’s being investigated and has been closed to donations whilst that is on-going.
the offices that they were given permission for

yes and they can call the hole in the ground - a typing pool!
haw haw haw

This is a planning application ( cancelltion on the grounds of misrep) and there is the civil action ( possibly) - breach of trust/fiduciary duty and fraud under the Fraud Act 2006, which used to be fraudulent conversion

and you know this is what happens if you do a Harry-and-archewell jobby under english trust law.
Two charities?
well they both have ( sort of on page 1) charitable objects.
and since they are separate charities, their ends may be different.

"It is a charity but not capt toms which is NHS but another one. This allows me to build a spa"
is NOT a line I wd like to argue
//I have seen many comments on other platforms stating that the NHS didn't receive the original money, which is clearly false.//

Is it, have you personally been through the accounts? I agree it is likely not to be a problems but lets see what the investigation finds out first eh?
