He's certainly been hung, drawn and quartered on here...lord knows what's being said by the public on various media.
No doubt the terminally horrified will now be able to breathe a collective sigh of relief.
and I can stop clutching my pearls, and calm my heaving bazoom
For all we know Huw Edwards could have been blackmailed by the young adult.
Crikey, the BBC are doubling down on the depression “mental
health” card.

I wonder if they would be so forgiving if one of us was found out paying £35k to get nude photos.

For an organisation that tipped off the police on Cliff Richard, who did nothing wrong, to coddle this pervert is an absolute bloody disgrace.
Im disgusted that hes hidden away with mental issues now and can't face the public!
nope will get up and run

depressed ( not sad- depressed) middle aged men may present with their disease with sexual er deviancy

and so when for instance a middle aged man is charged or suspected with flashing etc, it is worthwhile, whilst insisting on innocence etc to ask - - is he depressed ?
For an organisation that tipped off the police on Cliff Richard,
hold it - - they paid £400k and the rest ( costs) over that one

you wd expect them to change behaviour

the much quoted case Cliff v Beeb and S Yorks police, does discuss privacy law after para 237 I think - but it is mostly about dividing damages and the two parties Beeb and SYP have ( in the case) already admitted liability
Maybe I don't watch enough tv but although I know who he is I wouldn't have called him a 'celebrity' presenter - I just know him as a newsreader. The story certainly seems to have lost its impetus now its not someone like Graham Norton who I am sure lots of people thought it was.
So he's escaped for a month in the Priory. Not sure what prolonging the inevitable is going to achieve.
erm paying £30k for nudey pictures is a bit stupid but it is not "perverted" lol any more than looking at porn is... and it isn't actually confirmed that he did pay for them

i think the sun ran with this because they wanted to damage the bbc and didn't care about anything else... mission accomplished i am sure mister murdoch will be delighted
So he's in hospital, what treatment for mental health is he going to get that millions of other sufferers cannot get???
He'll get 24/7 rehab, costs approx £30k a month, drop in the bucket for someone on £ 450k a year. Specially someone who has £35k to pay for filth.
Who knows, he may have tried to harm himself and been sectioned
The BBC are blaming The Sun! I am not a fan of the rag (Liverpudlian), but the victim’s parents went to the paper because the BBC ignored them! The cheek and arrogance of the BBC, they are making it worse!
The BBC said days ago that they had both emailed and phoned the family but got no reply.

Are they suddenly shy or have they been briefed not to interact with a news organisation that may have started their story falling to pieces.

The Sun are known to take no response as licence to print any old keech, they are not an organisation to be looked up to.
It's disappointing that people want to see hospital treatment for mental illness as 'hiding' or a 'get out of jail free' card.

Mr Edwards apparently has a history of mental illness, and his current hospitalisation should be seen for what it is - necessary treatment for an illness.

The jibe about him receiving treatment 'denied to others' ignores that fact that he may be being treated as a private patient.

Hospitalisation for mental illness is not a sop to avoid responsibility - this will be waiting for Mr Edwards when he is ready and able to deal with it.
Spungle...have you seen the photos in question in order to know they are "filth"? How do you define "filth"?
If he is being treated as a private patient...how is he different from people on here who have gone private? I'm sure many would go private if funds allowed it.
How does any celebrity or public figure escape the limelight or the media when they are found out? They check into the Priory for a month. Some people really are very naive.
Thanks, Pasta, the family of the victim have further details if you're interested. Not that the BBC will be interested in that, unless they are forced to do some furious backpedalling.
filth - is defined here

I dont have any photos of other children, and all the ones of my family , they are wearing clothes.
