Then heavily fined , hot them in their pockets !
Yes they’re entitled to protest but they’re not ‘entitled’ to stop others getting on with their jobs ….
No-one is EVER correct to make working people late for work; life is tough enough without these self-righteous morons making it worse. Standing in the way of people who need hospital treatments, making people miss funerals and impeding the emergency services isn't just 'incorrect', it is disgustingly selfish. If they have a problem with oil companies...
Every single post you make on a device made possible (or cheaper) by the oil industry implicates you further in the side you’re condemning. That’s either naive, hypocritical or just plain daft. Or maybe all three.
and your assessment of my intelligence or rectitude is irrelevant to whether or not i am right about the problem…
i have answered your questions in good faith… i invite you to answer mine…
do you believe that the dependence of our economy on oil is a good thing? do you support the abuses of human rights committed all over the world by the fossil fuel industry?
i have never claimed not to be complicit in the horrors of the fossil fuel industry… we all are, all the time… it is more or less i impossible to exist in modern society without it. none of us chose to live in this scenario… but a small group of people get very rich from it indeed.
i am suggesting it might be a good idea to work toward bringing that situation to an end. my personal carbon footprint or indeed the carbon footprint of any other individual person is not going to be much help if the situation persists.
i think i have told you zacs that the device i am using almost certainly would not exist without oil… as is true for just about every other electronic device on the market…
i do not however think this is a good thing and i support those who agitate for something to be done about it.
Disrupting the life of ordinary hardworking people, causing people to miss hospital treatments, miss funerals of loved ones, and spoiling sporting events is despicable, and completely unjustified. If these people want to do their protesting to the oil companies and/or governments, fine. But don't create such misery to ordinary, working people. All you are doing is turning the public against you and showing yourselves to be utterly selfish lowlives.
Untitled - Leaving aside the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of the protests to date, do you agree with the protesters' methods as strongly as you do their reasons?
Disrupting ordinary people’s lives achieves nothing except growing animosity. It’s not the way to win friends and influence people. Someone needs to tell them the people they’re hurting can’t cure the problem. Fools.
