3 races from both Market Rasen (1st leg 2.05) and Newbury and the finale (3.45) from the Curragh make up today's ITV7. There are 4 quite competitive handicaps within the 7 and even the finale isn't that straightforward; AP O'Brien has 4 of the 8 runners (his son also has a runner) including the odds-on jolly. A quick glance at the recent history of the race (last 10 years) shows that of the stable's 3 winners, 2 were not the first string. Has Moore made the right choice??

I'm not too fussed, not all that keen on having to constantly take shelter when at the races. May as well be at home watching on the tv.
If i do decide to have a punt (not an 'Unt' - where's the 'P'? Running down my leg, miss) i'll post on here, though they are not tips - in fact they may be ones to avoid:-)

Haven't looked at all the afternoon's racing, yet, and therefore undecided as to whether this L15 i my main bet. Obviously my main bet will have the £5 win singles, so i'll update before the 'off'.
Having mentioned the competitiveness of the handicaps, my first selection aside, i've gone for relatively fancied nags. So be it;
2.05 M/R; Pink eyed Pedro @ 12/1 - (F/c Fenna's Loss)
2.25 N'b; Sweet William @ 3/1 - 5 places (F/c Novel Legend)
2.40 M/R; Dancila @ 11/2 - 5 places (F/c Too Friendly)
3.15 M/R; Francky Du Berlais @ 5/1 - 6 places (Fc Courtland)
20p L15, 2 x £1 e.w. accas (365 and Sky). 4 placed = £43, 4 winners = £4,237.
ITV7; above 4 qualifiers plus; Commanche Falls, Relief Rally and Savethelastdance. £1 e.w acca.
Also done an e.w. punt on Dapperling @ 33/1 in the 3.35 Newbury to 5 places. Hannon farms this race and has several entries.
And, should anyone find my missing 'P', could you please hand it in to AB's lost property office. Ta muchly.
Good luck, all

The racing is as unappealing as the weather. Why are we at MR for national hunt races when there are nice handicap races being run at Newmarket? Baffles me. Consequently although I have done the ITV7 I am not looking there for a flutter. Done a little E/W mugs double.
Epic Poet @6/1 1.50Nbury.
Poets Dawn @16/1 3.56 Ripon.
Also.....E/W Acca win Doubles and Trebles
Novel Legend @9/2 2.25NBury.
Abate @4/1 3.05NMarket.
Dutch Decoy @6/1 3.40NMarket.
Novakai @11/4 4.15NMarket.
ITV7 Wavering Down, Novel Legend, Gavin, Rohaan, La Domaniale, Relief Rally, Savethelastdance.
Off out to dodge the rain. Try to have a walk and a pint afterwards. Good Luck all. Have a good day Smurfchops ... you may want to give my Ripon stab in the dark a swerve.

Main bet;
2.50 Cart; Calverdale @ 6/1 - 4 places
3.05 N'm; Just A Spark @ 7/2 - 4 places
3.40 N'm; Dutch Decoy @ 6/1 - 4 places*
5.05 Rip; Innse Gall @ 7/1 - 5 places
Win singles, (£5 win on Dutch Decoy at WH and boosted to 15/2), 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £16, 4 winners = £2,002.
Giz, i mainly punt in large field handicaps and, as there is just the one such race at Ripon, i have only bet on one horse there. There is a question mark on whether the going is right for the horse (has run well once on soft) but Paul Hanagan has only sat on the horse's back once, resulting in a win over a couple of furlongs more here at Ripon. Tentative choice.

Decent enough day so far. Boosted odds win for Dutch Decoy, win single on Sweet William + Forecast. And only the evens fav finished ahead of Dapperling, so a bit of e.w. coin.
Hopeful that Hanagan can give me a decent double in the last at Ripon and i have a couple of bets running tonight.
Not to mention Rory pulling his finger out and racing up the leaderboard:-)
