This was the result of an error made after a freedom of information request.

The lives of over 6,000 serving police officers have now been put at risk.

Should heads roll and if so - how far up?

ynnafymmi I agree with oldandconfused. The IRA are highly unlikely to have any use for the information that was released in error. The computer system and its managers are at fault. An error like this should never have been possible. Security was lax.

Yes wolf63. Totally agree. It looks like a massive balls up rather than anything that could've been planned in advance.

As TCL has said, way too many variables would have to have been in place for a terrorist cell to have been behind this. And the FOI request didn't even ask for the detail that was released!

@1607 you are allowing your emotions to cloud any common sense you may have.
So 29 innocents were murdered at Omagh(including two unborn bairns),away with you and your emotional keich.
...murdered by SinnFein/IRA after the peace accord was signed...What The Funicular..so the peace accord wasnt worth the paper was signed on?
ynnafymmi this thread is not about the Omagh bombing by the Real IRA and your bigoted association of their terrorist actions to the Irish as a whole is not acceptable.
@16.55.RealIRA/SinnFein/IRA..same difference mod.The IRA have never changed, mod, they just pretend to be otherwise.

I understand your anger - but the IRA isn't what this thread is referring to. I'm sure you understand why others are trying to steer you back to the question at hand.

I know this is not a topic to be flippant about, but the most surprising thing is that you know who has not managed to hold the SNP jointly to blame.
@18.47.Aye,im angry,sp.But it was probably SinnFein/IRA who started this whole thing. If SinnFein/IRA get hold of the details of the PSNI then it is open season on the people in the PSNI.These IRA bastrads dont take prisoners.
Question Author
Okay ynnafymmi - point taken.
perseverer

Give it time. The SNP will be blamed.
:-)

In what way will the SNP be blamed, wolf, apart from the fact they have a pact with SinnFein/IRA?
You are forgetting about the Loyalist thugs who also
shoot Police officers and Prison officers

Perhaps a silent prayer for all those who have died in the
troubles .
@19.56.So the 29 murdered at Omagh means nothing to you.Away with you and your IRA apologist nonsense.
It would appear that our friend @ 2005 is not only emotional but blinkered.
YNNAFYMMI, regarding the Omagh bombing, have you considered venting your spleen on a separate thread?
I am NOT an IRA apologist. I don't have time for IRA or Loyalist
thugs.
I was in Omagh today for the service as I have done so
for many years.
What did you do today ??? rant and rave
