2 children have been rescued as of 17:34 hours, and 4 + 1 adult remain in the car.

there is a film about this apparently
people stuck in a cable car - the bad guy starts limping showing he is the bad guy and only does so in the cold.
AND
a mountaineer sort of got involved in such a thing ( vertical surely rather than horizontal) 1980
and it involved 12 h unravelling one of the skeins of his rope ( eek) so he cd make it longer..... and he froze to death on the second night

and so yes I wdnt go near one
