I don't think teachers are encouraged to correct grammar these days for fear of upsetting students!
It's certainly frowned upon on Answerbank, I've even heard of someone's grandma being called a Nazi or summat.
There seems to be a misunderstanding about if the players would show up or not. It is a shame for those who waited for them.

Unsureme - // I don't see where YMB mentions "Girls" //

He doesn't - but the OP does.
I would call them girls. We call male footballers boys or lads. I can’t see a problem with that.
//"Amazing" was one of the teams they played judge.//

Ah, that explains it, Tora! :-)

//NJ - amazing seems to be common parlance these days, you only have to watch TV for 10 minutes and someone will say 'they did amazing ' she did amazing ' or even worse they/she done amazing.//

Not on anything I watch. In any case, all the more reason why it could be corrected so that such abominations are not perpetuated.
Hmmm … maybe not so hasty. Perhaps the little girl was excited and made the placard all by herself. If that’s the case I wouldn’t be knocking the wind out of her sails by criticising her. Lessons can wait for another day.

Looking at the placard, naomi, I doubt she made it all by herself.

The script at bottom left ("you should be so proud of yourselves") has a fairly "adult" look. If I'd written anything like that with the help of an adult it would have been corrected before it left the house.
Perhaps her mum added that afterwards. All I know is, right or wrong, I wouldn’t have dampened her excitement.
There’s a spelling error in NJ’s post at 15.38.

Just saying.
Naomi at 18.09 - The problem with infantising adult professional athletes, who for the most part are well over the age of majority, is that it gives the defence to their bad, and sometimes appalling behaviour, by blaming it on their 'youth and inexperience'.

The Lioness who was sent off for violent conduct had pundits lining up to excuse her on the basis that she is 'young, and she'll learn ...' when in fact she is a twenty-one year-old professional footballer, not s fourth former in a Sunday kick-about.

Excusing bad adult behaviour by adults by letting everyone make allowances they make for children, simply makes them think it's ok to behave badly.

It's not.
AH, you appear to be over-thinking this.
Naomi - I would disagree, as you would expect, but there is plent6 of evidence to back up my point.
Perhaps someone else is over-thinking it too.
Poor little Minnie aged 11 was so disappointed. She was attending a summer football camp apparently and took time out to welcome the team home. I don't believe the players were at all to blame for their perceived behaviour, it must take a lot of getting over after their defeat. Hopefully they will be adjusting to everything day by day and they will be able to cope with crowds and the media very soon.
