Have you ever heard something so ridiculous, no one alive was a slave and no one alive ever owned a slave, perhaps they should search for those who sold them in the first place and the money we spent freeing every slave and ending slavery.

good point YMB most of the enablers where black.

Clearly Hymie you missed the whole point. a) Those purchased as slaves aren't around any more, their descendants are now in a better place than they would have been. b) clearly no sane person would even suggest it was good to be a slave. c) were I to have descendants having become a slave, and been moved elsewhere in the world it's very clear the outlook is going to be far worse for those descendants,  so the situation isn't comparable. Could you please try to think it through as writing long explanations is a bit tedious.

....so they owe us money.

give em compensation, then charge them for welfare, housing, the nhs, fares back to where they came from.presuming they want to go back.i wonder how many would take up the offer

Another thought to add to 13.13.  How many descended from slaves and eager to preserve their cultural heritage have chosen to return to the land of their deprived forebears?
