err no, 2 poorly maintained dams are the cause. What a load of old pony.

Read this earlier but as I don't like posting using my phone (linkless on comp) I didn't bother starting a thread.

So all I that's left to do is say...what utter garbage

It was the dams. They just happened to fail at a time of unprecedented high rainfall. Pure coincidence and nothing to do with climate change.

Things should be built well in excess of expected extreme conditions. No point in only just being ok at the time of creation.

Sure, climate change challenges things, but it should not cause drastic consequences for architecture of anything else designed properly.

And would the careers of the people at The World Attribution Group be enhance by perpetuating this current train of thought?

answers on a postcard to, The BBC, Current Affairs dept, London on Sea, EC1 URS

Things are not built particularly well in Libya OG. That's not the point.

The point is that the unprecented weather in Libya has caused the not very well built dams to fail.

Justin Rowlatt, the BBC's Eco Warrior - sorry - Climate Editor, is about as far from an impartial reporter on climate stories as it is possible to get.  Both his sister and wife have pledged their support for Extinction Rebellion.

He was beside himself this evening when he had to comment on the recently-leaked news that the government is about to announce they will abandon the ban on petrol and diesel cars from 2030, and also the ridiculous ban on gas and oil boilers.  Best news I've heard for a long time.

Would Justin Rowlatt's career be enhance by perpetuating this current train of thought? Just askin'

I really missed the crazy posts by the usual AB crazies.

which brayne dead Aber exclaims, foo, radio rental ?

You get the feeling the Tories are only doing this because of the Uxbridge by-election: someone has had the bright idea that clear and less than green water needs to be put between them and Labour.

I doubt it will work.

//You get the feeling the Tories are only doing this because of the Uxbridge by-election//

It certainly gave them a clue to the strength of feeling - and very sensibly they're taking notice.

Surely the overriding point is that unprecented weather in Libya shouldn't have been able to cause the not very well built dams to fail. Otherwise it's a bit like a bad workman blaming their tools.
