I'm currently in hospital suffering with 2 fractures on the right side of my face, Some serious swelling and may be some long term sinus damage, all this in a totally unprovoked attack where i was hit several times by someone i barely knew. if any one could shed some light on the charges he might face or what will happen after i've given my statement, I would be grateful

I would recommend you find yourself a good personal injury lawyer too, you could sue him personally. Contact Victim Support and ask them to send you a CICA form (Criminal Injuries Compensation Application) and you may find you are entitled to some money from that, as long as you did nothing to provoke the attack and co-operated with the police. Victim Support are also useful for counselling, you may well feel you want to talk to someone neutral about what happened to you.

Good luck, and hope you feel better soon.
