So pleased I do not live in the Human Jungle of the UK. I would not not feel safe there.This is what has happened to the Uk after allowing The Cons into power for thirteen years and just allowing them to to milk it, for themselves and sod Joe Public.

If as some have said on here that you live in Spain gulliver then check out this site and you will see that they have a much higher rate of stabbings compared to the UK.  They don't have the Tories in charge either.

It's a sad indictment when someone point scores by saying how bad we have it in the UK instead of showing compassion for another loss of a young life

It is happening to often these days not just in this country either.  It's seems to be like a badge of honour for some.  There needs to be a strong deterrent for carrying knives.  Some parents must be wondering if it's safe to let their children out even to go to school.  Got to feel for the families of those killed.

When, oh when are they (the powers that be) going to bring in a sentence of decent length for just carrying a knife ?? IMHO I reckon a minimum of 5 years without time off for good behaviour ? No matter what age they are - do the the crime, do the time.

Problem is, fbg40, that there are lots of very legitimate reasons for carrying knives.  A lady I knew was challenged and threatened for taking out a fruit knife at Skipton station in order to peel an apple for her aged Mum - just  for starters.  Everyone used to carry knives for good reasons.  Society has changed.

To legislate would be to discriminate - difficult.  Perhaps something on the lines of knives over 3" in length needing a permit?

I always carry knife on my person. A folding pen knife with a blade no longer than. 2 1/2".Must not be a locking blade and it is street legal.

It has long been established that a true English gentleman will need to carry a pen knife to sharpen the nib on his writing quill.

these days I always carry a pencil with a eraser to compete with my wife over a beer in the pub. :-)
