Jeremy Hunt is set to quit as an MP before the GE.The writings on the wall for the Cons, as most cabinet Ministers expect to lose their seats at the GE.If Jeremy did stand and loses which he will .It would have been  the biggest scalp taken by Labour on election night so he has decided to jump ship.

Just a thought.... Would an influx of fresh new candidates not associated with the old regime help offset the guilt by association effect.  Especially if they used effective local councillors who are already well liked and established in the community...  Not going to happen but might be fun as an experiment

Is there a link?

And is there a question?

I was asking Gulliver?^

Does it matter who posts a link?

But on the other hand ...

//Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt has no plans to step down before the next election, his spokesman said after the Observer newspaper reported that Hunt would resign from Parliament before the vote. //

We need to get to the bottom of this important story.  Anyone got a coin handy?

"Does it matter who posts a link?"

Yes, the person posting the item should provide a link so we all know what they are talking about, Gulliver is doing it on purpose, see how long they have been a member.

You wanted a link and one has been posted.

I note his seat will no longer exist at the next election following boundary changes.  I'm sure he could earn more outside parliament so wouldn't blame him. I'm apolitical and generally avoid political discussions, but irrespective of his political views, I will say Hunt was excellent on those Parliamentary committees, asking probing questions with great tenacity.

// Hunt’s spokesman denied the report, saying Hunt DID plan to run in his constituency //

Except his constituency (West Surrey) won't exist. He may decide not to stand in the replacement constituency, and still be able to say he is not quitting West Surrey?
