What I'm getting at is: for all the supposed outrage at what is going on, I don't hear many invitations from anyone to accept refugees

The Egyptians dont want the WHOLE of the arab populaton of Irael dumped at its border.

it is kinda like us with the Boat people

or the Kinder transport - or Australia and the Boat people, or American and er the Boat   people

Right Peter. As I was saying

"

i'm not arguing in favour of egypt's decision to keep their borders closed... not sure why you think i am. "

I didn't say you were

"i'm sorry but your portrayal of israel as the blushing blameless victim in all this is just untrue."

Nor did I say that. But I support the dismantling of the Hamas terror machine

well on that we can agree. i can't help but think the IDF might have more success doing that if it didn't set out to kill so many civilians.

You keep saying they "set out..."

They may not be calling over themselves to avoid casualties but that isn't the same  thing

Could it be they're dealing out dreadful and, in their eyes, condign punishment as revenge and a warning to others?

'Want' is one thing, but if you are one of the nations next to such an event then morally you have a duty to discuss with other near nations who offers what and where, and take resultant action. Pain in the neck it may be, but providing camps where folk are safe during the temporary relocation is the way to go. You are then at liberty to ask nations further away if they can supply resource or expertise to help support your efforts.

"they are hitting civilian targets on purpose"

The problem as you ought to know well by now is the "civilian" and "military" targets in Gaza are one and the same thing.

But the whole point about "power targets" as they call them is that their value is explicitly not military. they destroy them to "create shock" . In other words... to terrorise. is that really acceptable to you? it seems as though you're willing to excuse anything israel does because they are "on our side".

Don't send the boat-immigrants to Rwanda or Weymouth, Rishi - send them to the Isle of Wight.....

> ELLIPSIS, I don't know where you got your figures

Yes, sorry about that ... !

Many more crowded states such as Singapore, Macau, Hong Kong
