The BBC shot itself in the foot, viewer numbers wise, when it decided to ditch its well loved format with Sue Barker et al on the altar of diversity, introducing non sporting celebrities as guest panelists

"Due to inflation and funding challenges, difficult decisions have to be made, therefore Question of Sport is currently not in production at the moment"

Another example of senior managers chasing a new audience and only succeeding in losing the old one.

Rosetta has nailed it.

It has had a good run, and may be back. Personally I got fed up with it years ago as it became more and more like a scripted comedy show.

Sad day, I didn't mind the latest format I thought Paddy, Sam and Ugo did a good job. Not as good as Sue, Tuffers and Daws but acceptable. Pity because I can't stand ALOTO too much peacing about. A bit like "they think it's all over" a few years ago. QOS is pitched at just the right balance between humour and sports quizzery.  There have been many sports quizzes over the years but none as good as QOS. I will will miss it.

no question ! haw haw haw

end of, as someone else says

I like my quiz shows to be boring :-)

I accept I am probably not typical.

oh, I liked Moo, Mandy and Madge

I like my quiz shows to be boring , like my miners....

( er take off from Airplane - coffee, hot and black like my  men)

Once the producers decided on the new format (presenter & Captains be damned - & they were) & insisted that Paddy had a chat with some of the guests (wasting time for questions); when they told Paddy (essentially) "...let them take as long as they like on the stupid new rounds we've shoved in front of you, that means we don't need as many proper questions - you know, the way it worked for decades?...meh, we want change."

Idiots in charge & they'd no idea what they were messing about with.  A perfect little quiz that gave the average viewer the chance to join in with their answers; a quiz that often threw up things that fans of whatever sport hadn't known - "Oh, really?  Well, I didn't know that...".

I like Paddy, Ugo & Sam (especially Sam...), but the new format made them all look uncomfortable & I stopped watching after the first episode, after it had been a "must-watch" on my list for such a long time.

I miss the programme & its original format - sporting questions asked of sports personalities, that everyone watching could join in with.

The same old story - if it ain't broke DON'T FIX IT.

It was broken. They should have shelved it five years ago.

There is no room on that outlet for people who are having a bit of harmless fun, or banter, especially if blokes who are not rainbow coloured alphabetti spaghetti sorts are involved. It was not ever meant to be highbrow, and was something that all the family could watch together and trust that there would be no profanity or sly political leverage. Your compulsory viewing tax is not used to provide what you like, but to brainwash you if you are not vigilant. Time to scrap the outdated is it? Then scrap the licence fee rip off.

It always amuses me when Joe Public complains about the licence fee. Where do they think the commercial TV money comes from - yes, you guessed it, Joe Public (and what's more he stiill pays even if he never watches commercial TV.)

Furthermore the commercial TV companies work with a much bigger budget, so Joe's paying them more.

I stopped watching it years ago when it tried to be a poor imitation of 'They think it's all over'

Only if you are daft enough to buy what they are advertising. They also send out net zero threatening letters if you refuse to buy what they are pushing.

Snap

I hated TTIAO, they just peaced about, never got on with the "quiz".

They think it's all over was meant as a comic look at sport. A QOS wasn't
